Food and the Environmental Impacts
In this special episode, Eco Eye examined the state of Food in Ireland. With economic success & demand for diversity in our diets old food producing skills and ways of distribution have been lost. Much of what we buy from large supemarkets has traveled a long distance from other countries. We look at the environmental impacts of food production & this transport of goods. We visit communities around the country committed to combating this over reliance on imported goods. Duncan investigates the growth in farmers markets & visits small producers who show us how local can be best.
