Anja Murray

Anja Murray is an environmental policy analyst and ecologist. She has long been an environmental advocate and has been active in highlighting the importance of protecting our natural environment, wildlife and ecosystems. She has worked with An Taisce as a Natural Environment Officer on European and Irish environmental policy and as Land Use & Habitats Policy Officer at BirdWatch Ireland. She is a member of the Irish Environmental Network and the Irish Wildlife Trust.

Dr. Lara Dungan

Dr. Lara Dungan achieved her Phd in Immunology in 2011 and has won multiple awards for her work on experimental immunology and immune diseases including the prestigious ‘The Young Scientist of the Year’ award.

She has furthered her fascination with health and the human body and is currently studying to be a Medical doctor.

Lara has achieved further public recognition outside of academia for her work in science communication at Newstalk where she is also a regular contributor to the award winning radio series ‘Future Proof’ and a producer/presenter of her own series ‘Science is Everywhere’.

She regularly appears on national television and radio to comment, discuss or to explain scientific issues.

Garbage Girls tells the unlikely story of two young women who decided to clean up India, the country they both love.

Jodie, a brash Mancunian and Tashi, a sophisticated Mumbai urbanite form an unlikely alliance as they strive to overcome, the poverty, apathy and bureaucracy of the sub continent. With their futures and their friendship on the line, this film follows their herculean efforts to rescue their beloved country from being overwhelmed by waste in its rush to modernise and embrace the consumerism of the west.
